Evaluation of the Children with High Academic Potential program's procedure for identifying gifted fifth- and sixth-graders indicated that multiple assessment instruments should be used to identify students' areas of giftedness, parent and peer perceptions of students provide useful information in identification efforts, and teachers need further training in identifying gifted students.
