Essential Elements of Initial Teacher Education Courses for Science Teachers--a Survey of Tutors in the UK.

Presents findings of a survey designed to identify the range of elements that currently constitute courses in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) for science and activities and materials that support these courses. Findings indicate there is consensus among most tutors of ITE courses that half of the elements listed are essential and published material is not generally used to support courses. (Author/JRH)
