Explores pupils' (N=1675) perceptions of the subject of design and technology. Results show agreement between pupils across key stages and between genders. Findings indicate that pupils are positive towards key aspects of design and technology. Discusses results in relation to aptitude for technology, classroom interaction, the discipline of design and technology, and outside influences. Contains 23 references. (Author/JRH)
