Leung, Javier
Quarterly Review of Distance Education, v19 n3 p17-38 2018
Teachers have many options for continuing education and professional development. Online platforms are 1 option that can provide 24/7 access to professional development. This article describes an analysis of utilization patterns of resources and site features in 1 online professional development platform for K-12 teachers in the state of Missouri in the United States. By applying a clustering analysis to web analytics, patterns suggest that teachers use journals for initial activities, and seek exemplars of units of instruction and teaching practices, whereas school administrators review teachers' journals. Patterns also describe the most utilized resources and the issue of referrer spam.
