Journal on Excellence in College Teaching, v35 n2 p64-84 2024
This study assessed perceived learning outcomes in a team-lecture hybrid (TLH) instructional design in six public affairs and health administration courses implemented in 2011 and 2012. A cross sectional and prospective survey design was implemented using descriptive statistics, regression analysis and qualitative analysis. Results show students performing better in TLH learning environments when compared to traditional learning environments. Also, improved student contributions to content and higher enthusiasm were positively associated with better use of course subject matter to provide answers to real-life problems. Challenges, integration of online tools and recommendations for both students and instructors are discussed.
