Mentoring: The Socialization of Graduate Students for the 21st Century.
Blankemeyer, Maureen; Weber, Margaret J.
Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences, v88 n3 p32-36 Fall 1996
A survey of 154 graduate students (29% responded) and 44 faculty mentors (54% responded) showed that they both perceive mutual support important in professional development and research. However, mentees do not view mentors as critical to their academic careers and sometimes perceived themselves as more of an equal than their mentors believed them to be. (SK)
