Assesses implementation and outcomes of a staff development program, the Classroom Centered Teacher Development Mathematics Project (CCTDM), within the Chelsea (Massachusetts) public schools, which is designed to address problems associated with the teaching of school mathematics. Outcome data show that the CCTDM mode for initiating and sustaining change in the teaching of mathematics has been very effective. (GR)
