Strategies and Philosophies Used by Colleges and Universities to Minimize the Trauma of Non-Acceptance (Rejection) Letters.
Davis, Herbert L., Jr.
Journal of College Admission, n139 p14-20 Spr 1993
Conducted survey of philosophies and practices of rejection letters from broad spectrum of selective colleges and universities. Surveyed high school counselors, students, and parents to determine their feelings about rejection letters and practices. Many counselors and students agreed that such letters were warm and compassionate but lacked specifics of each student's individual deficiencies. (NB)
