Examines how well cognitive and psychosocial variables predict academic performance for students from first-generation and low-income families (N=54) who enrolled in Student Support Services at a midwestern public university. Findings imply that psychosocial variables, combined with high school rank, may need further consideration during the selection and student retention process. (Author/MKA)
