Educational Reform in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
Dardaine-Ragguet, Patricia
International Journal of Educational Reform, v3 n3 p290-96 Jul 1994
Although the Trinidad and Tobago governments are trying to provide an educational system congruent with citizens' needs, the schooling paradigm retains several characteristics of British schools, including the pervasive qualifying examinations. An elitist system has been maintained, and competition has increased with dwindling funds, jobs, and educational opportunities. All students deserve a nurturing educational environment.
