Israel's Ministry of Education has trouble mobilizing highly qualified teachers for the principalship. This article describes the Retraining Military Officers as Principals project, which prepares principals from a different group. Military officers are used to working within a hierarchy for a national mission, have not experienced burnout, and possess considerable managerial experience. Program features are described.
