In this article Annabelle looks at the nature, potential and changing character of the spaces provided for younger children in present day schools from the viewpoint of an Early Years teacher. In typically elegant and insightful fashion she asks, "Do we, should we, give enough consideration to those spaces required by the development of their imagination, for instance?" before going on to explore the issue of space in all its interpersonal, geographical and curricular richness.
