Yonker, Robert J. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1987
Criterion-related validity of the 126-item cognitive test used in the High School and Beyond study was examined. Sophomore and senior year cognitive test results correlated highly with senior year college entrance examinations for all subtests except civics, and moderately well with senior year grades and class rank. The California Psychological Inventory (CPI), the Slosson Intelligence Test (SIT), and the Shipley-Institute of Living Scale (SILS) were administered to undergraduates. The Intellectual Efficiency scale scores were correlated .52 with the SIT scores and .39 with the SILS scores. The SIT and SILS were correlated .49. (Author/GK)

The Shipley-Institute of Living Scale (SILS) was used as a criterion to evaluate the Quick Word Test (QWT) and the Wide Range Vocabulary Test Form B (WRVT-B). Testing 50 college students, the correlations were .68 with QWT, .73 with WRVT-B, and .81 between those two tests. (CTM)
