Faculty Attitudes toward the Mixed-Age College Classroom.

Telephone interviews with 183 faculty revealed an overwhelming preference for mixed-age classes; they had positive attitudes toward older students and thought their presence benefited younger students. However, older students tended to treat faculty differently, which younger students could interpret negatively. Some faculty perceived younger students less favorably. (SK)
