Conflict-Related Emotions during Peer Disputes.
Arsenio, William F.; Killen, Melanie
Early Education and Development, v7 n1 p43-57 Jan 1996
Videotaped four- and five-year-olds playing to investigate conflict emotions during peer disputes. Found that initiators', recipients', and observers' emotions differed in the conflict and postconflict periods. Conflict initiators almost exclusively expressed happiness, whereas conflict recipients expressed mostly sadness and anger. Conflict emotions were also related to the frequency with which they initiated and received conflicts. (HTH)
