Group Connotation in the Analysis of the Images in Motion Used in Television Departments
Caldera-Serrano, Jorge
Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, v42 n1 p70-75 2010
This paper describes a procedure to manage connotations, so that they may be identified in the document databases of television channels. The system is based on Ranganathan's facets, as this is the best tool to describe actions--i.e. the units analysed in television--which enable the identification of the connoted information by introducing or specifying qualifiers. The procedure explains how to identify, not personal connotations, but any connotation that may be valid, useful and standard to a large collectiveness of individuals (journalists/information managers) at a specific time.
