Society for the Teaching of Psychology and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee: U-Pace
EDUCAUSE
The Society for the Teaching of Psychology and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) partnered to disseminate U-Pace, a technology-enabled instructional model that promotes student success through deeper learning. UWM developed U-Pace in 2006 for an Introduction to Psychology course and, over time, evidence indicates that U-Pace not only produces greater academic success but also reliably increases learning and reduces the achievement gap for disadvantaged students. Similar effects were found at the two universities adopting the model with UWM's assistance and with funding support from Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC). This grantee profile from NGLC provides at-a-glance information, course model design details, grant project activities, results and outcomes, participant impressions, next steps, and additional resources.
