This article deals with the new religious situation in the higher educational institutions of Ukraine. In this article, the author discusses the results of surveys undertaken by the problems scientific research laboratory of higher education at Khar'kov State Technical University of Radio Electronics. The author sketches the context of the shaping of the religious views and other views and preferences of the respondents, making use of the results of recent sociological surveys. The respondents who took part in the survey included: students in all levels of study; professors and instructors in a number of departments; engineers and executive personnel in industrial enterprises; students in the upper grades of secondary school; and schoolteachers and principals. The author discusses the attitudes of students and teachers toward religion, atheism, mysticism, and occultism. The author concludes that the situation in higher education is leading to a weakening of the positions of the scientific worldview and to a strengthening of the influence of unscientific conceptions and views among a considerable number of college students and teachers.
