Designed to assist students, current workers seeking to change careers, and people re-entering the work force after a lengthy absence, this report presents employment, salary, and placement information for 31 Johnson County Community College (JCCC) career programs. The information is based on data from county, state, and national studies, as well as on responses to follow-up surveys conducted each January of program completers and their employers. The occupations reviewed are: accounting; administration of justice; automotive technology; aviation maintenance technology; biomedical equipment technology; chef apprenticeship; civil engineering technology; commercial art; computer systems technology; data processing; dental hygiene; drafting technology; electronics engineering technology; emergency medical science; fashion merchandising; fire science; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technology; hospital management; information word processing; interior merchandising; manufacturing technology; marketing and management; medical records; metal fabrication; nursing; occupational therapy assistant; paralegal; physical therapy assistant; radiologic technology; respiratory therapy; and secretarial careers. For each occupational listing, the report provides a projection of employment and demand for the year 2000 and current numbers of employees in the local area, state, and nation. Information on salaries is also provided for Johnson County, greater Kansas City, the state of Kansas, and the nation. Finally, each career includes information on the placement and salaries of students who completed the program at JCCC. (JMC)
