The document presents objectives and proceedings of a population education seminar involving representatives from 12 non Western nations. Major purposes of the seminar were to provide a forum where population experts from Asian and Oceanic nations could exchange ideas, cooperate in improving population education programs, and explore how to increase cooperation in population education on a regional basis. The document is presented in three major sections. Section I is a general report of seminar study topics. These include trends within regional educational programs in Asia and Oceania, policy influences on population education programs, methodology and curriculum used in school and community programs, and recommendations for increased regional and national cooperation. Section II focuses on reports of population education in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. For each country, information is presented on the population situation, status of population education, educational needs, and educational trends.
