Status and Future of Lunar Geoscience.
A review of the status, progress, and future direction of lunar research is presented in this report from the lunar geoscience working group of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Information is synthesized and presented in four major sections. These include: (1) an introduction (stating the reasons for lunar study and identifying current and future efforts in this area); (2) status and unresolved problems in lunar science (outlining advances related to research on the moon's crust, mantle, core, and its geologic processes); (3) future of lunar science (specifying immediate needs for the development of lunar science); and (4) summary (highlighting the accomplishments of the past and targeting goals for the future). An extensive reference list is provided. (ML)
