New Dimensions in Career Development for Adults: Conference Preceedings.
Creamer, Don G., Ed.
The purpose of this conference was to focus attention on career development for adults. The meeting was based on the fact that mid-life career changes are now commonplace; re-evaluation of personal values regarding the fullness of life is no longer a strange phenomenon for anyone. The assumption was that people such as counselors, who purport to be able to facilitate change in others, must be challenged to learn new skills for working with adults. Topics addressed in this conference include: (1) life-long learning; (2) vocational education for women and handicapped; (3) adult counseling and leadership training; (4) career development for the mid-life adult and for handicapped adults; (5) community college response to adult career development needs; and (6) minority adulthood and career development.
