Engaging the Spiritual Intelligence of Gifted Students to Build Global Awareness in the Classroom
Sisk, Dorothy
Roeper Review, v30 n1 p24-30 Jan 2008
Spiritual intelligence--using a multisensory approach to access one's inner knowledge to solve global problems--can be an integrating theme to engage gifted students in building global awareness in the classroom. This article introduces individuals providing training in higher consciousness and presents examples of strategies to further develop the spiritual intelligence of gifted students, such as exploring existential questions, service-learning, and moral dilemmas. A residential program for secondary gifted students provides an example of engaging the spiritual intelligence of gifted students to build global awareness. (Contains 4 tables.)
