Discusses the incidence and impact of maternal incarceration, analyzes one Minnesota prison's attempt to provide programs to support inmate mothers and their children, and offers policy and program recommendations. Describes the Shakopee women's prison overnight visiting program for children 11 years and younger, and a parent support program for parents of teenagers.
