Riotous Images: Representations of Joseph Priestley in British Prints during the French Revolution
Clay, Richard
History of Education, v37 n4 p585-603 Jul 2008
This article focuses on printed images that were published in Britain during the 1790s, depicting the educationist, theologian, chemist, physicist, historian and philosopher Joseph Priestley (1733-1804). It is argued that such etchings and engravings are indicative of, and contributed to, the lifelong political and historical education of late eighteenth-century adults.
