Classroom Culture Promotes Academic Resiliency
DiTullio, Gina
Phi Delta Kappan, v96 n2 p37-40 Oct 2014
Resiliency is what propels many students to continue moving forward under difficult learning and life conditions. We intuitively think that such resilience is a character quality that cannot be taught. On the contrary, when a teacher sets the right conditions and culture for it in the classroom by teaching collaboration and communication skills, and then adds the right amount of challenge for students, it can help develop resiliency in students.
