This report describes the problems which prompted the Yale University Library to request Higher Education Act (HEA) grants from the federal government, and recounts the accomplishments achieved through the receipt of those grants. HEA funds were given to the Manuscripts and Archives department for the preservation and resurveying of historical manuscripts, and the the Yale Collection of Historical Sound Recordings for the dubbing of 2500 shellac records and 350 cylinder recordings onto tape.
