Reynolds, Cecil R. – Psychology in the Schools, 1979
Two doctoral level school psychologists independently scored 50 McCarthy drawing booklets. Children producing the drawings ranged from 5-11. Interscorer reliability for Draw-A-Design was .93 and for Draw-A-Child was .96. No significant differences occurred in the mean score for either test across scores. (Author)

Comparison of the Goodenough-Harris and McCarthy scoring procedures for 60 kindergarten children's drawings yielded substantial agreement between the two scoring systems. The streamlined McCarthy scoring system should be utilized when large numbers of children are being evaluated with short periods of time. (Author)

Primary school children were administered the Draw-A-Design and Draw-A Child subtests of the McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities in a group setting. Results suggest that the McCarthy drawing tests may be administered validly in a group format, and that these scores are significantly related to school achievement. (Author/BW)
