Cue-Controlled Relaxation and Systematic Desensitization versus Nonspecific Factors in Treating Test Anxiety.
Russell, Richard K.; Lent, Robert W.
Journal of Counseling Psychology, v29 n1 p100-03 Jan 1982

Examination of within-group changes showed systematic desensitization produced significant reductions in test and trait anxiety, and remaining treatments and the placebo demonstrated significant declines in test anxiety.
