The Care Voice and American Indian College Students: An Alternative Perspective for Student Development Professionals.
Arvizu, Dorothy Roberts
Journal of American Indian Education, v34 n3 p1-17 Spr 1995
Drawing on Gilligan's work postulating different paths of moral development, a survey asked 95 American Indian college students to choose solutions to ethical dilemmas based on "care" or "justice" orientations. Indian students and educators felt that the care orientation was more representative of Indian world views, but students surveyed used both orientations to make ethical decisions. Contains 40 references. (SV)
