This paper investigates change in employer satisfaction with vocational education and training (VET) between the years 2005 and 2009. Employer satisfaction was measured using the Survey of Employer Use and Views of the VET System, conducted biennially since 2005. Key measures from the survey are employer satisfaction with: vocational qualifications as a job requirement; apprentices and trainees; and nationally recognised training. To determine whether the distribution of responding employers accounts for the large differences in survey estimates, employer satisfaction is modelled taking into account the size and industry of responding employers.
