While there has been a great deal of change in Australian education, little is known of the attitudes of Australian teachers towards education. This paper draws on the research and scale development of Kerlinger (1959) in the United States to analyze the attitudes of a sample of Australian teachers, and the relationships between those attitudes and aspects of the teachers' backgrounds.
