Censorship problems are becoming more complex. Liberals as well as conservatives are objecting to certain materials. And because selection of textbooks and school library materials hinges not only on content but on budgetary and instructional considerations, school censorship cases can be even more difficult to pinpoint. The main appeal of corporation-produced consumer education materials is their "free or inexpensive" aspect. But the very low price of these items may have a high cost in the form of their biased perspectives. Teachers must exercise continued care in selecting and using consumer education materials.
