Analysis of Assessment Procedures Used in an Introductory Course in Psychology.
Johnson, E. G.
Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Education, v9 n3 p63-70 Spr 1985

Multiple-choice tests were consistently found to be more effective than essay examinations, but arguments are presented for the retention of essays, with suggestions for their improvement. (MSE)
