College seniors in secondary education programs were compared to a norm group of college freshmen on total reading performance, reading rate, vocabulary, and comprehension. While the prospective teachers' gross scores were not much better than those of the freshmen, analysis of the subscores presents a somewhat brighter picture. (SJL)
