Activities and teaching strategies proposed in this resource manual are intended to help social studies teachers at the high school level in adapting the career education philosophy to the classroom. The manual consists of two parts. Part 1 identifies goals and objectives of career education and various social studies subjects (world culture, ancient and medieval history, modern history). Part 2 suggests activities and teaching strategies keyed to the goals and objectives. Included along with the activities are the following topics: definitions and emotions, comparing cultures, immigration, prejudice, education and democracy, comparing education, feudal system, influence of India, high school culture, United States entry into World War II, inventions, inflation, post war economics, the apprentice system, technology and inventions, the role of government, minority Americans, career choice, human nature and government, value decisions, working in college.
