People with work disabilities report self-employment at twice the rate of the general population. Unfortunately, these national trends are not reflected in vocational rehabilitation (VR) practice. Survey of 78 VR counselors showed counselor attitudes accounted for 11% of the variance in self-employment outcomes. Shows counselor attitudes influenced by office atmosphere and state policies.
