Mobilizing Media for Development: A Question of Will.
Development Communication Report, n18 Apr 1977
This report explores the use of media for the dissemination of nutrition information to rural areas. Dr. Everold Hosein, in his closing address to the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute's meeting on Nutrition and Mass Media, calls for the support of mass media managers in national development activities. He sees no conflict between media support of specific development programs and freedom of the press. Also in this issue is a description of a three week communication experiment in Guatemala in which audio cassettes were used in a village level health and nutrition education project. A new series appears in this issue entitled Dilemmas in Country X: Candid Discussions about Failures. (STS)
