Explored importance of "In Memorium" contributions as remembrance of deceased elderly and support for bereaved persons. Review of 2,198 obituaries indicated that 68.2 percent of families designated contributions to religious institutions. Respondents (n=153) indicated that memorials were helpful in offering comfort to bereaved family, reconfirming friendship ties, and continuing funding for programs valued by deceased. (Author/PVV)
