Data on salaries of medical school faculty during 1977-78 are presented in tabular form with a brief narrative analysis. It is the thirteenth regular annual salary review. Salary and earnings data are included for 108 U.S. medical schools and cover 23,530 filled full-time faculty positions. Some of the variables by which the data tables are arranged are: basic v. clinical sciences; geographic region; public v. private colleges; type of degree held; and institutional fixed salary v. total faculty compensation.
