Data from the 1993 Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System are used to demonstrate that there is a strong positive relationship between the representation of black undergraduate students and the representation of black faculty members at institutions of higher education in the United States. Implications for the debate over affirmative action in higher education are discussed. (SLD)
