A total of 951 school psychologists responded to a survey about language learning disabilities and speech/language referral practices. Using the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child as a standard, adult obligations to children from birth to age 12 years are outlined. Major themes of the feminist perspective are reviewed, and some important women from early U.S. psychology are identified as founders of social psychology.
