This publication is the report of a meeting by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) to discuss the translation of population materials. The goals of the meeting were to review the current status of translating population materials into languages appropriate to various nations and to develop guidelines for the translation and monitoring of materials at a national level. The report is divided into two parts. Part one is the committee report of the meeting and part two is a collection of the papers presented at the meeting. A listing of the participants by nation is presented in one annex and a listing of the papers presented in another. (MA)
