Geographic Origins of First-Time Students, Fall 1976. Report No. 3-78.
State Univ. of New York, Albany. Central Staff Office of Institutional Research.
The results of the State University of New York's (SUNY) annual survey of the geographical origins of first-time students is presented. Data are provided on the permanent residence of all first-time credit course students attending SUNY institutions. A first-time student is defined as a student who, prior to being reported as a first-time student in this report, had not been enrolled at any college or university. The main body of the report is divided into four parts: Parts I through III contain data for the fall 1976 term and Part IV contains related summaries. Part I contains summary data for the complete SUNY system. Part II contains tables for each institution that display the institution's enrollment of first-time students by load (full- or part-time) and permanent residence. Part III contains a separate table for each New York county and two tables with information on the institutional affiliation of first-time students whose permanent residence is outside the state of New York. Part IV provides additional data pertaining to first-time student enrollment, such as the high school status and age group of full-time, first-time students, and the distribution of full-time, first-time students by coordinating areas.
