University and Community College System of Nevada. Affirmative Action Data, 1994.
Nevada Univ. and Community Coll. System, Reno. Office of the Chancellor.
This affirmative action report from the University and Community College System of Nevada (UCCSN) provides data on students enrolled and professional and classified staff employed during 1994. Following a seven-page executive summary, tables of student data are provided on gender and race/ethnic designation by campus and percentages of minority student enrollment from fall 1985-94. Next, faculty tables provide data on gender and race/ethnicity by campus/unit and systemwide for 1991-94 and by length of contract (9-10 months versus 11-12 months) for 1994. Then, tables on classified staff provide 1994 data on gender and race/ethnicity for executive, administrative, and managerial employees; other full-time professionals; full-time technical and paraprofessional employees; full-time secretarial and clerical employees; full-time skilled craft employees; full-time service and maintenance employees; and part-time employees. Finally, tables are presented on the gender and race/ethnicity of new hires employed between July 1 and September 30, 1994 and staff eligible for and awarded tenures and promotions from 1993-94. Report highlights include the following: (1) 56% of students were female and 18% were minority; (2) between 1985 and 1994, female enrollment increased 2% and minority enrollment increased 7%; (3) 49% of UCCSN employees were female and 13% were minorities; and (4) during 1993-94, 30% of the 95 faculty awarded tenure were female and 13% were minority, while of the 75 faculty promoted, 39% were female and 13% were minority.
