Transforming the HR Department into a Consulting Organization

Hoping to be viewed as an integral part of university decision-making, the University of Arizona's Human Resource Department decided to become a consulting organization rather than a transaction-based entity. The transformation was neither quick nor easy; however, by reinventing its purpose and approach, the Human Resource Department has emerged from the process as a true consulting organization, with the resources and staff necessary to provide data, analysis and support to employees, managers and the administration.
