Research is contradictory concerning ability of the Wechsler Object Assembly (OA) subtest to predict bodily preoccupations. This study presents data from an objective personality test that do not support the hypothesis that bodily concerns are indicated by impaired performance on the WAIS OA subtest. (Author)

When criteria for the personality characteristics were provided by friends' ratings, the direct self-report measures were consistently superior to the indirect. When criteria consisted of experts' judgments, and the study design was biased to favor the indirect measures, these still were not superior to direct self-reports. (Author)

Hypothesizing that signature size is related to status, signatures of undergraduates, blue collar workers, and professors were compared and found to be ranked in the above order. Further, case studies of professors revealed a 50 percent increase in size of signature from several months prior to attainment of the Ph. D. to four years afterward. (DB)

Theoretical formulations of D. Gutmann in 1965 and of D. Bakan in 1966 were tested in three studies of sex differences in personality. Results indicate the importance of qualitative aspects of sex differences in personality and support the agency communion formulation as a framework for future inquiry. (Author)
