Powerful Influences: A Case of One Student Teacher Renegotiating His Perceptions of Power Relations.
Graham, Peg
Teaching and Teacher Education, v15 n5 p523-40 Jul 1999
Investigated the power relationship between cooperating and student teachers. Data from student journals, classroom observations, field-experience artifacts, seminars, and informal conversations indicated that the power relationship was productive for participants. Results highlight the importance of prehistories and personal narratives in constructing the shared-power relationship and of mentor and student-teacher tensions as a site for mutual learning. (SM)
