The American School Curriculum Goes to War, 1941-1945: Oversight, Neglect, and Discovery.
Davis, O. L., Jr.
Journal of Curriculum and Supervision, v8 n2 p112-27 Win 1993
World War II has been seen as a marker, not a period, in the history of education. This misconception persists in two recently published histories of U.S. school curriculum. Wartime curriculum history is a story of both change and prewar continuity in curriculum emphases, organizations, assumptions, and legitimations. Both change and continuity must be recognized, portrayed, and interpreted. (MLH)
