College art education majors, learning basic design and materials approaches suitable for secondary school art programs, designed this approach for grades 7-12. The objectives are: 1) to introduce basic techniques of paper mache; 2) to reinforce structural thinking by building the human head; and 3) to conceptualize and create a life-size self-image.
